Tina Revsbech “eager to get started”

“I feel like I have scored a hat-trick,” says Tina Revsbech, as she walks through the door on her first day as CEO of Maersk Tankers. Her energy is infectious: “I’m coming home to Denmark, home to Tankers and home to Maersk.”
This is indeed not the first time Tina has had a first day at Maersk Tankers. Her career started just a few kilometres north on the other side of the Copenhagen canal in 1991 as a trainee with A.P. Moller-Maersk. Since then, her career has spanned nearly 15 years at Maersk, and stints at Torm, Shell, BW Tankers and, most recently, Canadian dry bulk owner Fednav International.
“I spent half of my shipping career at Maersk – most of it at Maersk Tankers – and a big part of my heart has always been here,” she adds.
Over a varied career that has seen her fix ships from all product segments to VLCCs and the occasional LPG carrier and that in three major tanker hubs, Singapore, Copenhagen, and Houston, she has also been able to see Maersk Tankers through the eyes of a customer, a competitor and from the adjacent dry bulk shipping business. These perspectives will prove invaluable as she takes the helm at Maersk Tankers during a pivotal time for shipping.
Energy markets have undergone turbulent times because of geopolitical upheaval, while, at the same time, the green transition is gathering steam. These developments, she says, “bring both challenges and opportunities for the industry.”
“In this business, we play the long game,” she says, pointing to the importance of building lasting relationships as well as following the long-term industry cycle. These will help Maersk Tankers to continue to offer effective solutions to the benefit of customers, shipowners, and the wider society alike. “This industry is all about people. I am passionate about shaping an environment where, together, we can contribute towards creating something special.”
Since becoming an independent company in 2017 Maersk Tankers has undergone a significant transformation. Tina says: “The team has built a strong foundation, and it remains one of the strongest shipping brands in the world.”
“I’m eager to get started.”
