ShipNet Mobility is a digital mobile solution that covers five key aspects of work aboard a vessel: inventory management, work order management, material receiving, equipment explorer and smart forms, a collection of all forms needed for daily operations.
ShipNet Mobility has made closing a job up to 50% faster.
“We built the solution to optimise the maintenance processes on board the vessels by ensuring the right spares are available at the right time. Once the solution is fully implemented, this will contribute to higher efficiency and operational up-time while allowing crew members aboard vessels to work smarter,” says Frederik Lerche-Tornoe, Innovation and ShipNet Program Manager at Maersk Tankers.
ShipNet Mobility is connecting seafarers with their ship’s computer. The tablets are used offline, automatically synchronising when docked. Product QR codes can be scanned into the system, filtered and catalogued immediately. Spares due for audit, scheduled maintenance and work orders are accessible with a single touch.
A pilot of the tablet is currently running on three vessels.
“With ShipNet Mobility, updating stock is done more efficiently. Likewise, this mobile solution has made closing a job up to 50% faster,” says Jonas Kofoed, Chief Engineer of the vessel Bro Nibe.
The award was presented at the 6th annual Shipping Insight Fleet Optimisation Conference & Exhibition.
The award is given to companies and their technology partners that have successfully implemented vessel optimisation and ship operating efficiency initiatives through digital solutions.
The jury assessed the winning project based on how well the technology was implemented, with attention paid to how well the initiative advances the state-of-the-art in fleet optimisation.
